Kurt Axcel / Tools

Privacy

This page covers tools.kurtaxcel.com only. It says what the site collects and what it does not. Last updated 26 October 2026.

At a glance

  • Collected: anonymous page views, to see which tools and guides are used.
  • Not collected: your name, email or account information. The site has no accounts and no forms.
  • Not used: advertising pixels or retargeting.
  • Stored in your browser: only your theme choice (light, dark or follow device).

Analytics

The site uses Vercel Web Analytics. Vercel describes it as not using third-party cookies: visitors are identified by a hash made from the request, and that session information is discarded after 24 hours. Each recorded data point can include the time, page address, referrer, approximate location (country and region), device type, operating system and browser. It is used for aggregated statistics only. Details are in Vercel's analytics privacy page.

The visitor count in the footer comes from a small counter I run on Cloudflare. When a page loads, your browser asks it to count one visit. It keeps only a one-way code made from your IP address, your browser name, a secret and the date, so each person is counted once a day; those codes are deleted the next day. Your browser also notes in local storage that it was counted today. Only the running totals are kept.

Google Analytics is not loaded on this site. If that changes, this page will be updated first.

What is stored in your browser

When you pick Light, Dark or Follow device in the theme menu, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage so the site looks the same next time. It never leaves your device. Each Kurt Axcel site stores its own choice, so changing it here does not change it on Portfolio, Blog or Shop.

This site does not set its own cookies.

Copying and downloading scripts

The "Copy script" button loads the PowerShell script from this site and puts it on your clipboard. Downloads are plain files served from this site. Neither action sends anything about you anywhere. The scripts then run on your own computer and talk to GitHub using your own login, which is covered by GitHub's policies, not this page. The Auto PR Mass Merge script contains no code that sends data to this site or to me; you can read it before running it, and its source is public on GitHub.

The Better Post page only describes the project and links to its GitHub repository. It does not run anything or collect anything from you.

Hosting and other sites

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, it processes technical request data, including your IP address, to deliver pages and keep the service secure.

Links to Portfolio, Blog, Shop, GitHub, the GitHub CLI site, the Git & GitHub 101 workshop, my links page and social networks lead to sites with their own privacy practices, and clicking one sends your browser to them. Each Kurt Axcel site has its own settings and its own privacy page.

Questions

To ask what I hold about you, email [email protected]. If I ever add a form, account or anything else that collects more, this page will be updated before it goes live.
